To keep this forum clean, usable and helpful to others a set of rules have been put together and we expect all forum members to comply with them.

Rules

  • This Forum exists in order that members may discuss issues relating to RAYNET.
  • We will not tolerate posts  which are vulgar, defamatory, inaccurate, harassing, hateful, threatening, invading of others privacy, sexually oriented, or violate any laws.
  • You may not post pornographic, offensive, sexually explicit, or objectionable material, which includes but is not limited to suggestive images, graphics, comments and links.
  • You must not post any message of a political or religious nature as you will likely offend someone.
  • We do not allow advertising on the Forum, except in the designated area.
  • Message content: you remain solely responsible for the content of your messages.
  • We do not allow flaming.  Flaming is defined as "an insulting criticism or remark meant to incite anger, or be hurtful, posted on the board”.
  • We do not warrant the usefulness, accuracy or completeness of any post.
  • Messages posted on this Forum express the views of the author only and are not necessarily the views of other members or of the owners of the Forum.  If you feel that a posted message is objectionable, please contact us immediately by email.  We will make every effort to remove objectionable material within a reasonable timescale if we feel that removal is necessary.
  • No trolling.  Don't make posts that are inflammatory just to annoy people.
  • No Spamming.  No commercial posts or flooding the forum with useless content please.

Posting Guidelines

  • Please post in the right forum.  It will help everyone to find messages which are relevant to the Forum topic.  The moderators will move any topic considered to have been posted in the incorrect place.
  • Please ensure that the subject is meaningful.  This will help others find what they want to read.  Topics with bad Topic subjects may be deleted.
  • Please do not post in CAPITAL LETTERS.  This equates to shouting in netiquette, and text in capital letters is also more difficult to read.
  • Research your Post!  Make sure you are not double posting; please search the forum first as most questions have been answered dozens of time before.
  • Respect the privacy of others.  Please do not post other people’s personal details without their permission.
  • Please treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.  Criticise ideas and not people.  We do not permit personal attacks and any member resorting to personal attacks will be suspended or removed.
Signatures
  • Your signature should be no longer than four lines
  • Signatures may not contain advertising.
  • Signatures are expected to follow the same guidelines as posts.

User Accounts

  • You must have an account in order to be able to post.  You will only be allowed one account.
  • Please make your user name meaningful, i.e., use your name and/or your call sign.
  • If you have not posted any messages and have not logged into the forum for six months your account will be deleted.
  • If you are found breaking any of the forum rules you may have your account suspended or removed or your message deleted.
User identification
  • You must properly identify yourself
  • Your signature should contain your:
    • Name
    • Callsign (if you have one)
    • The RAYNET Group your are a member of (if applicable).
  • Ideally your user-name should be your amateur callsign (if you have one).
