Hi All Just a quick query, can you use the FT8900 to repeat in band? I get the impression that you set the two VCO's to what ever frequencies you want and then repeat between the two. Is this the case?

I believe not.
When receiving the same band on both sides of the radio, the other receiver shuts down when one side goes into TX. Don't know if it's because some part of the receiver is shared, or just to protect the front-end. This is common with all dual-band radios, irrespective of manufacturer. The only radio I've ever seen that was capable of this is the (now very old) Yaesu FT-726 & 736 base station sets, which had modules for each band and you could frig it into using two of the same band in full-duplex mode. |
