The Radio Amateurs' Emergency Network

National Convention - 2006

The 2006 National RAYNET Convention and AGM, to be held in Fife House, Glenrothes, Fife on Saturday November 4th.

The Convention is open to all RAYNET members, regardless of affiliation.

The Provost will open the event and lunch and refreshments will be provided.

A keynote presentation and a series of demonstrations and workshops have been arranged for the morning. There will also be an opportunity to look round the Fife communications vehicle.

RAYNET Supplies will be in attendance.

Local transport will be arranged for anyone coming by train on the day and details of this will be given nearer the time.

Regrettably, due to recent security changes, it will not be possible to arrange pick up for those arriving by air.

The day's events are open to all RAYNET members, regardless of affiliation and the Network looks forward to welcoming everyone to its first convention.

There will also be an opportunity to visit Jaycee Electronics radio emporium, an outpost of Waters & Stanton, which will remain open later than usual.

Accommodation is available at the Premier Travel Inn, Beaufort Drive, Glenrothes, which is a short drive from the Convention venue and can be booked direct on-line or by telephone on 08701 977114.

Members are responsible for booking their own accommodation.

The traditional dinner will be arranged at the nearby Brewsters Restaurant for the Saturday evening.

Full details on the programme for the day were published in RAY~Link 59 and in the formal AGM calling notice, posted to every registered member at the beginning of October. The current copy of RAY~Link can be downloaded from the RAYNET Members' area.
