Joining a RAYNET group
Individuals join a RAYNET group, which is an autonomous body governed
by its own members. Many Groups choose to take advantage of the extensive
range of services provided by RAYNET-UK. This is
done by the group registering its members with RAYNET-UK.
Membership of RAYNET is open to anyone over the age of 14 with an
interest in the aims of the organisation. It does not matter if you
hold an Amateur Radio licence or not as there are many disciplines
involved in RAYNET work. All classes of Amateur licence are welcome
and a foundation licence (M3/M6 callsigns) is not a bar to operating in
a RAYNET environment.
Existing groups
To find details of your local group, either find your local groups
on the contacts page or submit a membership
enquiry via this website and your details will be passed to your
nearest group.
When this information is not immediately available you will be advised.
It is not the policy of RAYNET-UK to deny the existence of groups
not affiliated to RAYNET-UK and we will endeavour to put you in
contact with the most appropriate group.
Forming a new group
You may feel that there is not a suitable group locally and that
a nucleus of Radio Amateurs may wish to consider forming
a new group.
RAYNET-UK is fully aware of the challenges associated in starting a RAYNET
group and will be pleased to put you in touch with people who have had
considerable experience in developing and managing RAYNET groups.
